The Association of Fine Arts (Kunstforeningen Gl Strand)

Established in 1825 by the Golden Age painter, Eckersberg, The Association of Fine Arts is Denmark's oldest exhibition organisation.

The aim of The Association of Fine Arts is to exhibit the very latest trends in the Danish and international art world, and to shed new light on classic themes and leading figures from the art history. Equally, it is a keen supporter of innovative and progressive works of art and personalities. Since its inception, The Association of Fine Arts has set the agenda for the world of fine art in Denmark, and has assisted established artists as well as discovering exciting new artistic talent.

As part of its aim to encourage new young artists, The Association of Fine Arts has created a bridge between the Royal Danish Academy of Arts and the public, with its annual exhibition called "EXIT", where work from the Academy' degree courses is shown.
