The Danish Golf Union was founded in 1931, when four clubs made the initial arrangements to create a governing body. The main purpose of the Danish Golf Union is to promote golf in all aspects. Through its existence danish golf has experienced a continuous growth rate and today counts more than 150 clubs and 150.000 players. Golf is now the largest sport in Denmark for people over 25 years of age. The Danish Golf Union spends a lot of resources on environmental issues and in attracting more young players to the sport.
