Officially he is “His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark”, or more simply ”The Crown Prince” or “Crown Prince Frederik”.

As a prince of the Danish monarchy, as a polar explorer, as the  Navy SEAL “Pingo” and as private person, Frederik, the Crown Prince, has always been the focus of attention in the public eye.

But the Crown Prince has always known that the monarchy of today must be a living blend of history and modernity in the new millennium. In many ways Crown Prince Frederik is literally both a Crown Prince of Denmark and of the future. But this is not possible without a solid background knowledge and understanding of the past. The Crown Prince’s strong links to his family and the monarchy’s history is expressed clearly in classical heraldic symbols such as the Crown Prince’s personal Coat of Arms, his Standard, his Monogram, and not least in his interest in his family and its position in Danish history.
