In 1914 special standards (or flags) for the King, the Queen, the Crown Prince and the Regent were introduced. For all occasions the flag is the swallow-tailed Dannebrog with a heraldic symbol in a white central field.
In the Crown Prince’s standard there is the crowned National Coat of Arms surrounded by the collar of the Order of the Elephant. This standard is flown over the Crown Prince’s palace at Amalienborg. It is also used as a distinguishing mark in the Navy and the Air Force.
