The Naval-Lieutenant-Society is a military scientific society, founded September 17th 1784 and thereby the second oldest of its kind in the world. The purpose of the society is, through exchange of thoughts, opinions and information among members, to enhance their knowledge and thereby benefit the Danish navy. For a number of reasons the society is quite unique, e.g. during meetings and others activities, all members are equal in spite of military rank. Furthermore the board can only be seated by younger naval officers.
